At Springthrough we value our team and the culture that we have built for our team to thrive within. Part of that culture is sharing it with past, present, and future clients.
This week we asked our team “What’s your Favorite thing” and gave them the option on how to answer; What’s your favorite thing about working at Springthrough, what’s your favorite thing in the Grand Rapids scene, or what’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Read on to see how some of the Springthrough nerds answered and learn a bit more about our eclectic team!
RJ Volosky:
“My favorite thing in the Grand Rapids locale is the Monroe Center / Rosa Parks Circle area in the summer time. There are lots of fun places to eat and drink, and the streets are always filled with the music of buskers.”
Patrick Kimbrell:
“My favorite thing about Springthrough is the people.”
Kelsey Marr:
“My favorite thing in Grand Rapids right now is the music scene. There is so many great artists coming through town that haven’t come in the past. It’s great to see Grand Rapids being recognized as a major city in Michigan and attract people like Incubus, The Dirty Heads, Kesha, 21 Savage, Odesza, Lil Wayne, Elton John, Jack White, and not to mention great events like Breakaway Festival.”
Kevin Reed:
“One of my favorite things about working at Springthrough is flex scheduling, which makes it easy to make it to appointments, school events, etc., and make up the time later.”
Rick Volosky:
“Favorite thing in my free time is writing. I fancy myself a writer of most genres, even poetry sometimes. I like it because that creativity helps me in all aspects of life, like critical thinking and problem solving.”
Tonia Butterworth:
“One of the things I enjoy doing in my free time is to serve in the community, specifically mentoring families in their journey to financial freedom and peace. I wouldn’t be able to do this with a rigid work schedule. I love that Springthrough supports me in this passion!”
Eric Spencer:
“Kelsey Marr is the best. I enjoy working with her every day.”
Nick Tameling:
“I enjoy playing PC games when I have time, I have a 6-month-old son who loves watching whatever I’m playing, I’ve even given him a keyboard that isn’t hooked up and he loves to smash buttons along with me”
Adam Friedli:
“My favorite thing about Grand Rapids is having access to some bigger city amenities without the big city chaos. We have great venues for concerts and great food! We also have fantastic beer and breweries! Chicago and New York are cool, but Grand Rapids feels more accessible and more like a great place to call home.”
Nick Ronan:
“My favorite thing about working at Springthrough is the great team collaboration and the variety of the work.”
Josh Rouwhorst:
“Wearing headphones when coworkers get annoying. Especially when they’re “will-they-or-won’t-they” fighting.”
Chris Clements:
“My favorite hobby is to work on motorcycles. I have built one from a 1982 Yamaha Maxim and am now finishing up my 2nd which is a custom build from a 2001 Yamaha V-star. I have been in to bikes my whole life but only started working and riding them about 4 years ago.”
Kris Coleman:
“I love the freedom and responsibility that our company provides its employees. I am free to use the right tool for the job, with the considerations that it can be done, and it fits within the project’s budget. This makes me feel like a Rockstar.”
