This weeks Employee Spotlight features our Program Manager, Kelsey Marr. Read on to learn a little more about one of our leading ladies at Springthrough!
How long have you been at Springthrough?
It will be 2 years this fall. Time flies when you're having fun!
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always loved doing hair and makeup. So growing up I wanted to be a hairstylist, which is what my mom does. I did go to Cosmetology School and still have my license, but I also wound up with a Marketing Degree and in Project Management. (I'm a jack of all trades)
What is your favorite Springthrough memory?
I think my favorite is the Halloween parties the last 2 years. Both of them were a blast and I was able to really connect with coworkers that I don't usually get to be around socially. We all get goofy and have a great time together!
Tell us something your teammates don't know about you.
I'm a fairly open book, so they know mostly everything. But, one thing most don't know is my middle name. And that will remain a secret... more because I think it's funny they always try to figure it out.
What is your favorite local restaurant / bar?
My favorite restaurant is probably Luna, best taco's and margarita's in town. But if we're just talking drinks then it's any of the Michigan Street bars. I love the hole in the walls with cheap drinks and a good atmosphere to have fun conversations with my friends.
What is the most interesting job you've ever had that wasn't in Project Management or Marketing?
My first job out of college was selling cars at a local Honda dealership. I mostly showed up and took naps in the cars. It's hard to believe but I did sell some cars... between naps.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
From a speaker at an AMA Conference: You'll get much farther owning your faults than you will trying to cover them up. Embrace what you've done and how it's getting you to where you're going.
What is the best place you've ever traveled to?
Well, since I've been there an obscene amount of times, I'll have to go with DisneyWorld. I mean, it is the MOST magical place on earth. (It really is)
What is the technology that you use the most and why?
At work I mostly use Teamwork and Harvest which are AWESOME project management tools, couldn't do my job with out them!
What is one thing you cannot live without?
Hm, just one is hard. Top 3? My iPhone, champagne, and music.
